Everything you need to know about Radiesse
Radiesse
What it is: Calcium-based microspheres suspended in a water-based gel.
Pro: Immediate and long-term results.
Con: Cannot be used in high-movement areas like the lips.
How long it lasts: 2-3 years. (semi-permanent)
Because of its density, Radiesse is best used on the smile lines of the cheeks and the nasolabial folds. After being injected, the smooth microspheres of calcium hydroxyapatite (a natural substance found in the body) in Radiesse act as a filler, but over the next few months, the microspheres will prompt the skin to produce collagen. Over time, the microspheres will disintegrate, but because of the new collage production, the wrinkle correction will last.
There is no need for an allergy test before using Radiesse, so with one visit to Medi-Spa at Knoxville Dermatology Group, you can get results that last for 2-3 years.
